MMU Chamber Choir
The MMU Chamber Choir (Select Chorus) is a performance opportunity for students who are most focused on creating choral excellence. This auditioned "varsity team" chorus is designed to give men and women the opportunity to sing in a truly excellent choir in regards to tone, difficulty of music, focus of sound, creating an exciting and engaging choral performance from high-performing students. The Chamber Choir’s mission is to create a truly focused, polished, inspiring, beautiful, and exciting choral performance.
MMU Men's Chorus
The MMU Men’s Chorus was founded by a group of male students in Select Chorus in 2001. The group was formed around singing barbershop quartet songs but has grown to encompass all genres of choral music. This choir is designed to give men a chance to perform in a group that is both fun-loving and focused on creating confident singers for a solid performance. Men’s Chorus includes all students with sufficient musical skills who wish to perform and make a firm commitment to the choir.
MMU Women's Chorus
The Women's Chorus (Women's Madrigals) prepares and performs SSAA repertoire. This ensemble aims to refine the ensemble-singing abilities of each member while focusing on a variety of treble-voice repertoire from throughout the centuries. The singer's abilities and commitment result in a high standard of performance.
MMU C0ncert Choir
The Concert Choir is the performing ensemble of the students enrolled in the vocal/choral music class (in 2012-13, there are two sections of this course). This class is designed to teach the rudiments of music literacy and theory required for performing, basics of vocal production, and diction for singers. Repertoire is chosen to help promote the singing skills of the singers in the group, reflecting the development of the course. This course is not auditioned.
