Mansfield Union High School Activities Director Brian M. Cain, MS, CAA announced on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 that Ken Yeates would be the MMU Boys Ice Hockey Head Coach. "We had some very good and very qualified candidates for the position." Cain said.  "Ken has been a varsity head coach in Vermont for the past three seasons and is a former assistant coach at the University of Maine at Orono.  He played at The University of Vermont and was on two ECAC Championship teams (1976, 1975).  Ken understands that successful results are a byproduct of doing things the right way on a daily basis.  The process of developing a great program comprises of many different elements and we are confident that Ken will be able to lead us on and off the ice in those areas.  We are excited to have him on staff and look forward to welcoming him into the Cougar coaching community."
